CARE Trainings 

Audience: Caseworkers, Therapists, Foster Parents, Caregivers, School Staff

Dr. Khalil is a Child Adolescent Relationship Enhancement (CARE) trainer and offers CARE training to various schools and agencies that work with parents, families, children, and teenagers. This manualized trauma-informed training is based upon the skills taught in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy. CARE training includes live coaching and practice of the skills and feedback taught by Dr. Khalil. All members of the training become certified in CARE following the training. This training is about 6 hours for up to 20 people at a time. More information about what CARE is here.

Behavior & Parent Management

Audience: Caseworkers, Therapists, Foster Parents, Caregivers, School Staff

Dr. Khalil can train parents, caretakers, school staff, and child care staff of young and neurodiverse children. Strategies include preventing unwanted behaviors, increasing wanted behaviors, breaking down instructions and tasks, and delivering instructions.

Signs of Autism, ADHD, & Intellectual Disability 

Audience: Parents, Caregivers, Community Members, School Staff

Specialized training can be provided for Healthcare, Caseworkers, and Mental Health Staff 

Dr. Khalil's specialization is assessing Neurodiverse individuals across the lifespan. Training in this area can help agencies, schools, and families understand the signs and symptoms of common neurodevelopmental disorders and where to go when they are concerned.

Collaborating with Families and Children from Various Backgrounds

Audience: Childcare staff, healthcare providers, and school staff 

Dr. Khalil's research expertise lies in understanding the barriers to healthcare for individuals with autism and neurodevelopmental disorders from diverse backgrounds. This training focuses on understanding cultural nuances when working with families and children in diverse settings. This training can be tailored to the organization's specific setting and the populations it serves. 

Active Listening and Interpersonal Skills 

Audience: Corporate employees, management, college students

Dr. Khalil uses her expertise as a psychologist to provide workplace training and professional development talks on active listening and communicating with others. She has also taught as an instructor of record at Purdue University-Main Campus in the Collaborative Leadership Program, teaching communication courses such as EDPS 315 Collaborative Leadership: Interpersonal Skills.
